Sized deliberately: it holds a full pour-over, it fits under most espresso group heads with the lid off,
and it fits every car cup holder we tried.

## The lid comes apart — use that

The lid separates into **three pieces**: the cap, the collar, and the silicone gasket. All three are
dishwasher-safe.

This is the whole point of the design. Every travel mug eventually develops a smell, and the smell lives
under the gasket. Take the lid apart **weekly** and the mug stays neutral for years.

1. Twist the cap counter-clockwise and lift it off.
2. Peel the silicone gasket out of its groove with a fingernail. It is meant to come out.
3. Wash all three pieces, top rack or by hand.
4. **Dry the gasket groove before reassembling.** Trapped water is what starts the smell.

## Daily care

- Rinse straight after use. Coffee left to dry stains the interior — harmless, but permanent.
- Do not leave milk drinks in it overnight. This is the fastest way to a mug you will not want to use.
- Hand-wash the body if you want the exterior finish to last; the dishwasher will dull it over time.

## Removing an existing smell or stain

1. Fill with hot water, add a tablespoon of baking soda, leave overnight, rinse.
2. If it persists, repeat with a 1:4 white vinegar and water mix.
3. Replace the gasket if neither works. Gaskets are a consumable — email hello@emberlane.coffee.

**Do not use bleach.** It pits stainless steel.

## What kills the insulation

The vacuum between the walls is what keeps coffee hot. It fails when the outer wall is breached — almost
always from a hard drop onto a corner.

Once the vacuum is gone the mug still holds liquid but keeps nothing hot. It cannot be repaired.

**A dropped mug is not a warranty claim.** A mug that stops holding temperature without being dropped is.

## Warranty

One year on the seal and the vacuum insulation against defects in materials and workmanship.

**Covered:** loss of vacuum without impact; a lid that leaks with a correctly seated new gasket;
manufacturing defects in the threads or weld.

**Not covered:** dents, scratches, and finish wear; damage from drops; a lid that leaks because the gasket
is missing, worn, or seated wrong; damage from bleach or abrasive cleaners; any unit bought second-hand.
